Aliva Prospect

The Aliva prospect is located 10km south-west of the Nzema Mine and 4km NE of the village of Esiama on the Nkroful Mining Licence that covers an area of 48km sq. The Nkroful ML overlies Birimian age folded and shallow dipping greywackes and phyllites of basin and basin margin affinity of the Kumasi Basin. The sedimentary sequence has been intruded by granitoids and dolerite.

A few kilometres to the north of Aliva, and hosted by a similar sedimentary sequence, are the Anwia and Bokrobo deposits that form part of the Nzema mine reserve. Anwia has a Measured and Indicated resource of 578,000oz Au and Bokrobo contains 123,000oz Au.

Soil sampling conducted at Aliva on a 200m x 50m grid delineated a 3km long NNE trending gold anomaly at >0.1ppm Au. The anomaly was followed up with trenching and RC drilling. Eighty eight RC holes have been drilled on traverses spaced at 50m to 100m. Gold mineralisation is shallow dipping to the southeast and shows good continuity along strike.

Best results include:
NAV8 6m @ 5.87g/t Au from 44m
ALRC036 12m @ 2.04g/t Au from 9m
ALRC076 8m @ 4.50g/t Au from 2m

Additional RC drilling was completed at Aliva in February 2011 to infill and extend the existing drilling with the aim of updating the resource estimate in mid-2011.

The drilling has confirmed the continuity of the mineralisation along strike and ALRC106 and ALRC107 have extended the main zone 60m down dip where the mineralisation remains open. Significantly ALRC106 intersected mineralisation from surface in what may be a new parallel mineralised zone. Field mapping has revealed active galamsey activity on sulphidic quartz veins adjacent to the collar of ALRC106. Additional drilling is planned to test this new zone.

The Aliva prospect is located within a soil anomaly that extends 4.5km in a NE-SW direction. To the south drilling has tested the soil anomaly to the boundary of Adamus’ licence but to the north the anomaly has only been marginally tested and the mineralisation is open.
